About Springfield

Springfield is the home of the Baltusrol Golf Club which was the host to the 2005 and 2016 PGA Championships. New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Springfield in the Top 100 of their "Best Places to Live in NJ" 2010 edition. In June 2010, Newsweek named Springfield’s Jonathan Dayton High School as one of the best high schools in the county – only 6% of all public schools in the U.S. made the list. Springfield is located on the northern edge of Union County.     


The Downtown Area

The Mall at Short Hills is less than a 10-minute drive from the center of Springfield. Shopping districts in Millburn and Maplewood are also nearby. A 10-screen movie complex is in the other direction, on Route 22 in Mountainside.



The Springfield Public School district consists of the following schools: Edward V. Walton School Early Childhood Center (Pre-K-2), Sandmeier School (3-5), James Caldwell School (3-5), Florence M. Gaudineer Middle School (6-8), Jonathon Dayton High School (9-12).



Springfield has many public transportation options. Short Hills or Summit NJ Trainsit stations both offer Midtown Direct train service to New York Penn Station. There are also many NJ Transit bus stops along Rt. 22, Mountain Ave, and Morris Ave. No matter where you are, public transportation is never too far away.
